OUR TEAM

Jessica Splinter

Master Stylist/Owner

With nearly 25 years behind the chair, I found my way into cosmetology because I wanted a career that blended creativity, problem-solving, and working with people. What started as an artistic outlet has grown into a career that’s challenged me, inspired me, and continues to evolve alongside my drive to keep learning. As a salon owner, I also enjoy mentoring and developing other stylists, and teaching has become one of the most rewarding parts of my career. It keeps me learning right alongside them and ultimately makes me a better stylist for every guest who sits in my chair.

I specialize in balayage, extensions, texture, and razor cutting, but my favorite part of every appointment happens before we even mix color. I believe great hair starts with a great consultation. I love listening to what you’re hoping for, understanding your lifestyle, and creating a plan that’s tailored to you. My goal isn’t to create the hairstyle I would choose—it’s to create the version of your vision that best fits your features, maintenance level, personality, and everyday life.

Clients often describe my appointments as relaxing, efficient, and consistent. Whether you love to chat or prefer a quiet appointment, I’ll match your energy. When you want guidance, I’ll confidently lead the way with honest recommendations, but you’ll never feel pressured into something that doesn’t feel like you.

What I love most about this career is that every guest is different. I enjoy putting together all the pieces—your hair texture, face shape, goals, routine, and personal style—to create hair that doesn’t just look beautiful the day you leave the salon, but continues to work for you every day after. Seeing someone leave feeling more confident than when they walked in is what keeps me excited after all these years.

Outside the salon, I’m usually spending time with my kids, working in my garden, or planning our next family adventure somewhere we’ve never been before.

If you’re looking for a stylist who will truly listen, offer thoughtful guidance, and create hair that feels effortless, modern, and completely your own, I’d love to welcome you into my chair.

Tom

Master Esthetician/Salon Administration

I moved from Silicon Valley to the Twin Cities in 1998 to attend the Esthiology program at the Aveda Institute. I really fell in love with the vibe of the space, from the plant based aromas, to the nurturing culture and even the space itself, which has an interesting history and background.

Life really takes us to unexpected places, and I actually began my career as an Aveda Advisor at a salon in the Mall of America. It was a “sales” job but I went for it because I really loved the brand so I felt good about it. Working at the Mall of America created a lot of unique opportunities due to it being a major destination in the area. It led to involvement with Aveda makeup, presenting on television, freelancing for Aveda education and becoming the salon manager*. I actually began doing brows very casually for coworkers which evolved into shaping brows as a specialty.

At Salon Oriana, I’ve expanded my services to include tinting and the real stars of the show… brow lamination and lash lifting! Not to minimize the effect of a good brow wax, but these services really create a whole new set of options for enhancing what you already have without using makeup!

I also work behind the scenes quite a bit to keep the ball rolling in the salon, from the technology, to payroll, to paying the bills! So I really embody both left and right-brained skills. And the services I do are perfect for it.

Outside the salon I live a fairly introverted life. Most recently, I’ve become very health-focused with my diet and strength training! Its really felt good to undo so many bad habits, and lets be honest, who doesn’t like a good physical transformation? Helps me counter the effects of my “other” hobby; video games.

If you like the idea of having a professional brow and/or lash “person”, come see me! There is often more hope for unruly brows and lashes than you realize!

* Jessica Spinter, the salon owner, was originally hired by me when she first got out of Cosmetology school. I’m glad someone likes being the boss, because I didn’t. Haha.

Macy

Senior Stylist

What drew me to this industry almost 10 years ago was the freedom to express myself creatively, have total artistic control, and build real connections with people. My favorite part of this career is meeting clients from every walk of life. As an Indigenous creator in this industry, my cultural and spiritual values toward the significance of our hair reflects in my care for my clients and a deeper respect in the way I handle their hair. I love a wide mix of specialties from fades and healthy curly cuts to Japanese hair straightening, or high fashion hand painted color designs to lived in brunettes and blondes. Truthfully nothing lights a fire under me like Bob-Rossing a buzz cut with a custom design. Clients always tell me how much they appreciate my creative range and the fact that they can just shut their brain off and trust me to take the wheel. In the end, I want to be recognized for building that kind of deep reliable trust in my expertise.

In my chair, you can expect a dynamic mix of relaxing energy, solid education, collaboration, and belly aching laughter. I’m a blend of it all because I want my space to feel as inspiring, creative, and compassionate as I am.

When I’m not behind the chair I have my own creative outlets to keep me overly busy. My ideal day off starts slow with breakfast, a gym session, a little shopping, and maybe some more cooking. To wind down, I’m usually listening to R&B while painting, dancing in the mirror, reading, or doing tarot
readings for people needing some guidance in life. I love going out to dinner with my friends or even by myself, you’ll probably find me at Townhall Tap or trying a new restaurant in my saved TikTok arsenal. If you’re my first client of the day you’ll see me sipping on a medium iced almond milk latte with caramel and butter pecan or an iced raspberry white mocha. When I’m not escaping in a book, I love enjoying shows like Lucifer, Yellow Jackets, and Shameless. Or I might be planning my next dream solo vacation. China? Scotland? Who knows, I don’t even know half the time!

I love working with clients who know what they like, but are still open to fresh ideas and suggestions. I get a lot of satisfaction out of solving hair health challenges and helping clients learn their natural curl styling. At the end of the day, they don’t call us therapists for no reason. The people who leave my chair happiest are often the ones going through a tough time they walk out feeling lighter, more confident, and ready to face the world again. Which arguably is the most accomplishing feeling about this career.

Kaitlyn

Stylist

Going to cosmetology school always felt inevitable for me. I was the kid doing everyone else’s hair for as long as I can remember, and that love for creating has never gone away. Whether I’m crafting the perfect color, adding length with extensions, or styling someone for a big night, I love creating looks that feel like they were made specifically for the person wearing them.

My creativity also takes me beyond the salon. I love working on photoshoots, fashion shows, and weddings—experiences that give me the opportunity to try new things, collaborate with other creatives, and continue growing as a stylist.

In my chair, I want you to feel relaxed, safe, and listened to. I’m very adaptable, so if you want to chat it up, I’m here for it. If you’d rather answer emails, get some work done, or simply relax, I’ll match your energy. Most importantly, I want to understand your vision and help you create a look that feels completely like you.

When I’m not doing hair, you’ll usually find me crafting, thrifting, hanging out with my cat, or traveling whenever I get the chance.

If you’re looking for a stylist who will listen, collaborate with you, and help bring your vision to life, I’d love to welcome you into my chair.

Jennifer

Master Nail Technician

Hi, I’m a nail technician with over 24 years of experience, blending creativity, care, and a whole lot of personality into every appointment. I got into this industry as a way to express my creative side while taking care of people—and that balance is still at the heart of everything I do.

I specialize in structured gel manicures and love using them not just for beautiful results, but to help clients grow and strengthen their natural nails. Nail art is where I really light up, whether it’s something bold and expressive or soft and timeless. My clients often tell me they love my creativity and my inviting, easygoing energy—and I take a lot of pride in being known for kindness above all.

My chair is equal parts great nails and great conversation. Expect laughs, a little storytelling, and a space where you can show up exactly as you are. I’m sincere, creative, and just the right amount of funny, and I love working collaboratively with clients who are open to mixing their ideas with mine to create something uniquely theirs.

Outside of the salon, my world revolves around my four kids, my dog, and finding little pockets of creativity wherever I can—knitting, drawing, painting, or getting lost in a good audiobook or true crime podcast. My perfect day off is slow and quiet, no rushing, just recharging at home (with a Starbucks soy latte in hand, hot or iced depending on the mood). My playlists bounce from 60’s soul to 90’s grunge to indie alternative, and if I’m watching something, it’s probably a British period drama.

At the end of the day, I love working with clients who trust the process, enjoy a little back-and-forth creatively, and aren’t afraid to laugh along the way. The best appointments are the ones where we build something beautiful together—and you leave with nails you love and a smile you didn’t walk in with.

Mina

Apprentice Stylist

I’ve been drawn to beauty for as long as I can remember, from doing my sisters’ hair to getting friends ready for special events. Becoming a stylist gave me a place to turn that creativity into something bigger, and over time, the relationships I’ve built with the people in my chair have become just as meaningful to me as the hair itself.

I love dimensional balayage, bright blondes, vibrant color, and working with textured hair. Detailed foil work is especially satisfying to me, particularly on longer hair where I can really customize the placement and finished result. I also love a good transformation. Sometimes that means a major color change or a completely different haircut, and sometimes it’s finding the right adjustment to make someone fall in love with their hair again. I also enjoy brow services and the way a small detail can pull an entire look together.

I’d describe myself as thoughtful, radiant, and confident. My appointments tend to feel relaxed and easy, but there’s definitely plenty of laughter along the way. I pay close attention to what you’re looking for and enjoy figuring out how to translate that into something that works beautifully with your hair.

Outside the salon, fitness is a big part of my life. I love working out and even training friends and family in my free time. My perfect day off is much less structured: give me a sunny day at the lake with friends, swimming, barbecuing, and an iced marshmallow chai from Cuppa Java. I love a good playlist, traveling somewhere new, and Greece is at the top of my dream-destination list.

I speak both English and Somali and genuinely enjoy working with a wide variety of people, hair types, and textures. Whether you’re craving a major transformation or just know something about your current look isn’t quite working, I’d love to help you find what comes next.

JD

Stylist

I came into the industry with a background in visual arts and a love for bringing out the masterpiece within every client. I chose this industry for its unlimited creative potential, and I continue to stay for its ability to foster growth, change, and recognition of one’s self. Hair is a vital part of a person’s identity, and being the stylist who helps bring out exactly who my client is searching for in the mirror is an honor I’ll cherish for years to come.

I specialize in color blocking, creative color and vivids, as well as haircuts ranging from sleek and structured to shaggy, fluffy, and alternative. Clients often describe their time in my chair as relaxing, informative, and supportive. I pride myself on being flexible enough to meet each client where they are. If you’re looking for a stress-free silent appointment, want to vent and have a good yap sesh, or you’re extra nervous and want me to explain my process step by step—I’m the stylist for you.

Outside the salon, I embody my Cancer Sun and find my peace and solitude at home or with family. I’m a plant mom to an endless array of flora and always finding new ways to turn my home into an indoor jungle. If I’m not being a recluse in my shell, you’ll probably find me camping under the stars, spending time with family at the lake, or picking up yet another artsy craft to hyperfixate on for a while.

I’m also a huge music girlie. In a former life, I spent 13 years in choirs and vocal training, and despite my love for all things music theory and music history, the universe saw it best kept as a hobby.

If you’re looking for a dynamic stylist who will make you feel safe, listened to, and supported while helping bring out exactly who you are, come take a seat in my chair!

Christina

Stylist

I truly love helping people feel confident through their hair. Whether you come in with a clear vision or have no idea where to start, I’m here to listen, collaborate, and create a look that fits you and your lifestyle.

I especially love lived-in color and creative pops of color, and I’m always excited to take on a new hair challenge. My goal is to make every appointment feel relaxing—from a soothing shampoo and scalp massage to fun conversations and plenty of laughs once you’re in my chair. I strive to create a space where you feel heard, comfortable, and leave feeling like the best version of yourself.

When I’m not at the salon, you’ll usually find me exploring local restaurants with my boyfriend and family, spending time at the lake, hanging out with my snake, Shaylo, and my bearded dragon, Leo, or enjoying a cozy day at home catching up on my favorite shows.

I’m bilingual in English and Spanish and am happy to provide your service in either language. I can’t wait to meet you and help bring your hair goals to life!

Alexis

Nail Technician

I’ve always known I belonged somewhere in the beauty industry, but it wasn’t until I started doing my own nails that I realized just how much I loved the artistry behind them. What started as experimenting quickly became a passion for creating tiny, completely customizable works of art—and I’ve been obsessed with perfecting my craft ever since.

Nail art is definitely where my creativity comes alive. I love hand-painted designs, unexpected details, bold colors, and anything that lets me turn your inspiration into something completely your own. Give me something spooky, weird, colorful, sparkly, or a little extra and I’m probably already excited. But as much as I love the art, the health of your natural nails always comes first. I’m known for being especially gentle and thorough, and I never believe a beautiful set should come at the expense of healthy nails.

I love working with clients who trust the process and give me room to get creative. Whether you arrive with a fully planned-out vision or just a general vibe and let me run with it, my goal is for you to leave with nails that feel like you.

Outside the salon, my spooky side is still very much alive. I love horror movies, video games, being outside, spending time with the people I love, and going to concerts. Music is a huge part of my life, and if there’s a good show happening, there’s a very real chance you’ll find me somewhere in the crowd—possibly crowd surfing.

If you love detailed nail art, appreciate a gentle approach, and aren’t afraid to have a little fun with your nails, I’d love to have you in my chair.

Melanie

Stylist

I’ve loved hair for as long as I can remember. Long before I became a stylist, I was the kid experimenting with my own hair in middle school. I always knew I wanted a career that combined creativity with connecting with people, and I still love helping every guest leave feeling like the best version of themselves.

I’m especially drawn to lived-in blonding, dimensional color, and soft, layered haircuts that grow out effortlessly. My favorite part of every appointment is getting to know you, listening to what you’re hoping for, and creating a look that’s tailored to your features, lifestyle, and goals. I’m committed to continuing my education and refining my techniques so I can keep bringing fresh ideas and personalized results to every guest who sits in my chair.

If you’re looking for a calm, relaxing salon experience, you’ll feel right at home with me. I’m naturally a great listener, a little quiet, and a perfectionist when it comes to the details. Clients often tell me they leave feeling relaxed, heard, and like they got exactly what they were hoping for—plus a pretty amazing head massage.

Outside the salon, you’ll usually find me hiking, thrift shopping, spending time outside with my three dogs (especially my dachshund, Zander), or grabbing a salted cream cold brew before heading out on my next adventure.

Whether you’re looking for a subtle refresh, lived-in blonde, or a stylist who will truly listen and help bring your vision to life, I’d love to welcome you into my chair.
